This programme aims to embed the habit of reading for enjoyment, creating lifelong readers - and thinkers! This challenge is designed to energise your reading journey with the ambitious goal of reading 1,000 books! It's open to all school-aged children (typically ages 5-18) in the Queenstown Lakes District, including home-schooled students!
You can participate however it works best for you - as an individual, with family or friends, or even as part of a classroom. And if you don't reach 1,000 books before finishing school, no worries! The goal is to keep reading, exploring, and discovering the joy of books.

Our libraries extend heartfelt gratitude to the community sponsors supporting this programme! While Queenstown Lakes may be larger than a village, the spirit of community remains strong, and local youth should know that we're supporting their success. A huge thank you to our sponsors; without your support, programmes like this wouldn’t be possible.
