Physical library collections

Our physical library collections include lots of cool things for children and families. You can borrow:

  • Fiction and non-fiction books for children of all ages, reading abilities (in English and other languages), and interest areas (from dinosaurs and unicorns to Minecraft!)
  • Dyslexia-friendly reading materials for children
  • Talking books
  • Comics, graphic novels and manga
  • Children's magazines
  • Boardgames and puzzles
  • DVDs
  • Loanable activity kits including our Stargazing kit, Litter picking kit, and Birdwatching kit

You can search for all of these physical items in our library catalogue (in browser) or via our library app (search for QLDC Libraries in your preferred app store).

Can't make it to a library branch? Prefer to read and listen to books online? We have a large variety of digital resources to develop your child's literacy.

We have a variety of online learning activities and resources, perfect for curious minds and after-school activities!

Other library services for children and families

StoryWalks® are a great family activity, encouraging literacy and time spent outdoors. Located in areas of the district where access to a library branch may be limited.

We host regular events for babies and children, including our popular School Holiday Programmes.

Our resource hub for parents and caregivers holds a range of resources for home educators and caregivers of children with learning differences.

The library app is an easy way to manage your children's library accounts and keep track of items they've borrowed.
