Our user fees and charges for the 2026/27 financial year have been set as follows.
These user fees and charges are reviewed annually and are set out and approved by QLDC as part of the Annual Planning process.
Per filmament gram: $0.40
Processing fee: $10.00 (+ replacement cost)
If an item is lost, not returned, or damaged while on loan, a $10 Processing Fee will apply. Additionally, where an item is damaged beyond repair, lost, or not returned, you will be charged the replacement cost of the item.
DVD loan fee (per week): $3.00
Applies to entertainment DVDs that are new within the last 12 months. Children's educational DVDs and Documentaries are free.
Minimum fee (per item) to cover courier costs: $11.00
Replacement library card (or unregistered souvenir card): $5.50
For local school students:
For Registered Charities (registered on the Charities Register/Te Rēhita Kaupapa Atawhai, ID must be provided):
Scanning to email or portable storage devices (per document set): $2.00
USB drive (32GB): $10.50
Free at Arrowtown, Frankton, Hāwea, Queenstown.
Free for up to 3 hours at Wānaka, thereafter a $10 fee for the rest of that day.
There is no charge or fine for late or overdue library items. We send a reminder email three days before an item is due to help you keep track of your check outs.
We send regular email notifications once an item is overdue.
Items are considered lost after a certain period of being overdue (this depends on the item type). Once our system marks the item as 'lost', you will be sent an invoice detailing replacement costs and processing fees.

If an item is on hold for another library member, it cannot be renewed. You may renew standard items twice. Any renewals to chargeable DVDs will incur additional standard rental fees.
The library applies Swedish Rounding principles to the rounding of cash transactions. The following rounding principles apply:
