How long can I borrow books for?

How many magazines can I borrow?

When borrowing physical items:

  • Permanent members can borrow up to 50 items
  • Temporary members can borrow up to four items

In addition to the above limits on physical items, you can borrow eItems as follows:

  • BorrowBox: six eBooks, six eAudiobooks, six eMagazines
  • Libby: five titles

What PressReader publications do I need to be in the library to read?

Allied Press publications (including the Otago Daily Times) and Stuff NZ publications can only be accessed when you are in the library and using the library Wi-Fi. This change reflects the publisher’s wish to maintain consumption of their titles on the library site, while still maintaining full free public access of all their content while at the library. This only affects Allied Press and Stuff NZ publications (*see below for a full list of impacted publications).
