Join our Forest Quest to read books and win prizes!
We've teamed up with partners Te Kākano and the Whakatipu Reforestation Trust to bring you this year's Summer Reading Challenge 'Forest Quest'.
For every five books you read, you can win a prize. The more books you read, the more prizes you collect (subject to availability).
Our nature-inspired prizes include a Tree Tops card game, a kōwhai seedling kit, stickers, and more!
Pop into your local library and pick up your first challenge card.
This reading challenge is for children of all ages. It will run from 1 December 2025 to 14 February 2026.
Te Kākano Aotearoa Trust is a Wānaka non-profit organisation that eco-sources seeds from the Upper Clutha area, raises seedlings in their extensive nursery, and facilitates volunteer community-based native planting and habitat restoration.
Whakatipu Reforestation Trust is based in Queenstown. Powered by volunteers, they work to restore native biodiversity to the Whakatipu Basin through revegetation projects in public spaces and Educate for Nature programmes.
